Introduction

 

All School Meals are freshly prepared on the premises each day by highly trained caring staff, who are committed to improve the quality of life for pupils in the school through cooking and serving wholesome nutritious meals.

The menu is balanced to adhere to the Governments new food based standards for school lunches as introduced in 2006 (revised 2008).

The Menu features:

  • Colour coding guidance to help your child recognise food groups.
  • Daily Vegetarian Option (V).
  • A delicious hot meal served with fresh vegetables or salad, potatoes and a scrumptious pudding.
  • A link to the classroom with fun characters who promote a healthy lifestyle.
  • Excellent value for money at only £1.70 per day.
High standards for all school meals are ensured by:
  • Monitoring of additives with a list of over 70 additives which are prohibited from school meal food (as recommended by the Hyperactive Children’s Support Group).
  • Full compliance with all legislative requirements with special reference to food safety.
  • Listening, responding and continually reviewing menus and services to match pupil needs.
